Urban Regeneration Tours

As Blue Badge Tourist Guides we are qualified to lead tours throughout London. You may choose to combine your visit to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park with a visit to other areas of the city. Here are just a few ideas. Contact us to discuss your visit.

We have tours focusing on areas of urban regeneration and contemporary architecture.  St. Pancras International & King’s Cross, Nine Elms & Battersea Power Station, Canary Wharf and Docklands are great examples of urban regeneration.

“I would like to pass on the thanks of everyone in our group for such an enjoyable tour of the Landscape and Gardens at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park yesterday.  It was very interesting to hear the ideas and concepts underlying their design and planting.  I think we were all surprised at how much development and building work is still in progress.  It was exciting and very appropriate to finish our tour at the Velodrome, especially in light of what happened in the cycling in Rio yesterday evening.”

London Docklands & Canary Wharf – Urban Regeneration Tours

A massive feat of civic engineering turned a once derelict Docklands into 97 acres of sought after office and retail space. The instantly recognizable skyline sits among landscaped parks, fountains, tree-lined plazas and walkways.

Look at how Canary Wharf is changing post Covid and the shift to working from home, the impact of Brexit and the new Elizabeth Line. See Crossrail Place’s roof garden.

St. Pancras International & King’s Cross Central Limited Partnership

The confirmation of St. Pancras as the new Eurostar Terminus was a catalyst to a major programme of regeneration.  After 150 years of industrial use, the area to the north of King’s Cross station has been transformed into a vibrant new city quarter. There are new homes, shopping, offices, cultural venues, bars and restaurants, there’s even a university. Historic buildings are being restored and complemented by contemporary architecture. These buildings are set within a framework of new parks, squares and streets.
