2013 and beyond
Join our Olympic Walk in the company of a Blue Badge Tourist Guide who has ‘been a part of the Games’.
Our guides have taken more than 70,000 people from all over the world on the scheduled walk, and the same number again on privately-arranged walks.
200,000 visitors have joined coach sightseeing tours around the Olympic Park area. We are proud to have operated our walk every day for over two and a half years, we continued throughout the Games, and we walk on into the future to witness the legacy of 2012.
Whilst there will be no public access to the Olympic Park as legacy transformation takes place, visitors will still get great views of many of the venues including the Olympic stadium, the Aquatics Centre, the Orbit and the Olympic and Paralympic village. You’ll walk past the film studio where Danny Boyle planned the Opening Ceremony, whilst hearing the story of the Games from an expert.
Schools and tourist groups can book a Blue Badge Tourist Guide for a full day coach tour around London’s most talked-about district. We suggest a morning focusing on the Olympic Park area. During the afternoon you can see more Olympic venues and hear all the latest on the transformation of Docklands, perhaps arranging a ride on the new cable car. Our guides can show you where the shooting and equestrian events took place and bring the whole story to life. See below for a sample itinerary.
If you would like to discuss, or book a tour with a Blue Badge Tourist Guide,
please contact Tour Guides Ltd or find out more here.
The Olympic Park is currently closed to the public until July 2013. Any enquiries about visiting inside the Olympic Park should be directed to the London Legacy Development Corporation.
