Tours of the Olympic Park area

A worldwide audience of 4 billion was glued to the TV all summer watching the heroics of the world’s greatest athletes as they competed in the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Now we all have new sporting heroes. But it’s not over yet. Come and witness the final stage – the Legacy.

More than 100,000 people have taken our walks since they were launched in 2009, and many thousands more have hired a Blue Badge Tourist Guide for a coach tour of London Olympic sites. With the opening of new access roads, we can take you even closer to the venues.

The Olympic Walk

If you are suffering from withdrawal symptoms after the close of the Paralympics please note that you can still join The Olympic Walk. Whilst there is no public access to the Olympic Park, we follow a route around the perimeter,
as close as permitted by security. Our guides worked throughout the Olympics in a variety of roles, hosting teams, working with TV and film crews, some volunteering in various roles and others taking care of VIPs.
Come and hear the story of the Games, learn about the transformation of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park
and plans for the future.
The Olympic Walk takes place every Saturday at 11.00hrs, and on additional advertised dates.
Departure point is outside Bromley-by-Bow Underground station.

"Blue Badge Tourist Guides were instrumental in helping us build public support for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The guides worked on the Olympic Park tour programme from 2009 right up to the Games themselves, helping us to take almost 280,000 people around the Park and show them the progress that was being made to turn a run-down corner of London into the stage for the world’s greatest sporting event.

The guides were professional, reliable and enthusiastic and hosted all kinds of tours from school groups to international delegations. It was a pleasure to work with them."
Sir John Armitt, Chairman, Olympic Delivery Authority

The Olympic Park is currently closed to the public until July 2013. Any enquiries about visiting inside the Olympic Park should be directed to the London Legacy Development Corporation.
